($19) Dark in the glass, this has a moderately complex nose, with notes of black fruit, leather and spice. It feels tight, fresh and snappy, but not excessively wide or structured. Flavors of ripe berry and cocoa lead to a solid finish, which has a controlled, smooth feel. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot.
-Michael Schachner, (2/1/2013)
Colour: Plain red with blue tints.
Aroma: Ripe red fruits, plums and red currants in oak.
Flavour: Concentrated, sweet tannins.
Finish: Complex and persistent finish.
Finca Flichman is one of the most respected names in Argentina. The Bodegas are located in the areas of Barrancas, Maipú, and Mendoza Province, where the first plots were planted in 1870. The current vineyards are located at up to 700 metres above sea level and centre on the town of Tupungato. They are mainly planted with noble ‘international’ varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Merlot and Chardonnay. The flagship wine of an impressive range, Paiseje de Tupungato is sourced from old vines farmed in the heart of the Mendoza vineyard.
