Wine Spectator 92 Points
A tarry red, with firm tannins backing tobacco-tinged flavors of dried black currant, cocoa powder, cherry preserves, ground spice and nut. This shows good intensity and focus, ending with a well-knit, lingering finish. Drink now through 2025.

($37) On the dark and savory side, this opens with blackberry, prune, chocolate and moist tobacco aromas. It offers ethereal notes of dried herb, cola and licorice that give the wine a lighter, more buoyant personality.

Deep pigeon blood ruby with black reflections and pyrope rim. The bouquet is rich, sweet, and spicy, with brown sugar mingled with berry fruit and sandalwood, and underlying red berry fruit. On the palate it's ample and fairly sweet -- more an ammandorlato than an Amarone -- with moderately intense berry fruit supported by brown sugar sweetness and smooth fairly polished tannins that flow into a clean sweetish finish.
Excellent with grilled red meat, powerful game stews and aged, rich cheeses.
The grapes go through a drying process that lasts about 5 months then they are pressed and the fermentation starts. Ordinary red fermentation and maceration on the lees for about 15 days.
