This is a textbook Lodi Zinfandel. Dark, ruby color. Jammy, big fruity raspberry and plum flavors followed by a big berry finish. What a value this is...
Vines as old as 100 years of age from Lodi vineyards in California’s Sacramento River Delta produce grapes of complexity and intensity. 10% Petite Sirah adds intensity and rich tannic structure to the ripe, jammy Zinfandel fruit. A portion of the wine spent 10 months in American oak, adding vanilla and sweet spice notes. The wine was lightly fined and filtered prior to bottling to preserve the ripe fruit flavors and rich texture. Zynthesis is a wine for the true Zyn-lover. Luscious ripe blackberry, rhubarb, black cherry aromas carry through to the palate, with toasty, vanilla notes on the finish.
Pair with grilled meats, sausages and spicy, full-flavored dishes such as jambalaya or paella.
The Lodi Region is the “Zyn Zone”
Since the mid-1800’s to today the Lodi Region, located in the Central Valley’s at the northern edge of San Joaquin Valley along the San Francisco Bay has been recognized as one of California’s top grape growing areas. California’s Sacramento River Delta boasts a Mediterranean climate of warm days and cool nights, providing longer hang time, optimum ripeness, and crisp acidity. Deep loamy, rocky soil similar to Southern France, known for producing red wines of intensity and structure. The Lodi Region boasts the largest number of Zinfandel plantings of any viticultural region. Almost 40% of California’s 52,000+ acres of Zinfandel are planted in the Lodi Region, best known for Old Vine Zinfandel with characteristically rich, lush fruit flavors.
