**Moscato has enjoyed some resurgence of late, but often in the form of cheap, inexpensively made sticky sweet wines made on an industrial scale from high yielding vines. This is not Moscato d’Asti. First, Moscato d’ Asti should not be confused with “Asti”. Asti is a fully sparkling wine, while Moscato d’Asti is a delicate wine with a slight fizz and perfumed aromas of flowers, citrus and honey. Sweet but never disgustingly so, this is a fresh desert wine with low alcohol meant for after-dinner sipping. In fact, its fun loving mildmanneredness also helped build its reputation as the “perfect breakfast wine.”**

Tasting Notes
If you want to ease into weekend mode or add a little punch to your brunch, Moscato is the quintessential chill-out wine. Playfully effervescent with notes of sweet, juicy peach and fragrant honey, this is a crisp and balanced bottle that will woo everyone in your crew. When it’s time to unwind, there’s no sweeter sip than this Moscato.

Winemaker Notes
Made from Moscato Bianco harvested from vineyards planted in calcareous soils around the town of Asti in northwestern Italy’s Piemonte, near the great vineyards of Barolo and Barbaresco. The juice of the newly pressed grapes is filtered, chilled, then stored as unfermented grape must. Fermentation happens only when the wine is ready for consumption. This ensures that the wine maintains its classic freshness and aromatic delicacy. Moscato d’Asti is one of the only sparkling wines that only undergoes a single fermentation, which is stopped when the wine reaches an alcohol around 5.5%. This results in a fresh, floral, and fizzy wine with a good dose of sweetness.
