2014 Vintage
Wine Spectator 90 Points

($18) Pleasantly earthy, with a mix of black cherry, fresh mushroom, light oak and savory herb elements combining into a complex weave of flavors and textures. The tannins are ripe and firm. Drink now through 2022. 4,890 cases made.

Tasting Notes
This Pinot Noir is deep burgundy in color, with aromas of Tahitian Vanilla, flambéed cherries and toasted cedar. Bold ripe tannins showoff the big, rich mouthfeel of this wine before the fruit and oak sing in harmony on the back of the palate. Chocolate-dipped strawberry notes start the tasty concert with hints of cinnamon, caramel and rich toasted French oak. The encore is a finish with notes of complex dried cherry, black raspberry and dark mocha.

Winemaker Notes
Monterey County has a damp and cool north while the south has a dry, warmer climate. The sandy soils and diverse climates provide excellent growing conditions for Burgundian varietals in the north and Bordeaux varietals in the south. Cool air from Monterey Bay helps to produce a longer growing season for grapes, while also allowing extra “hang-time” on the vines, giving way to a characteristic depth and concentration of flavor.
