The Multi-Single Vineyards
Stanly Ranch Vineyard
The Napa portion of Cherry Tart Chardonnay comes from the famous Stanly Ranch. While Stanly Ranch has gained its notoriety from Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay from The Ranch is classic Napa Carneros fruit: Big, rich & powerful, all of the new oak barrels that Cherry Tart Chardonnay ages in are used on the Stanly Ranch portion, as it balances the power of the fruit beautifully.

Oak Meadows Vineyard
The Sonoma County portion comes from the Russian River; specifically Oak Meadows Vineyard. Oak Meadows is one of our perennial favorites; loose gravely soil makes for excellent drainage, with allows the ground to be cool, but not wet. The cool ground combined with the evening fog of the Russian River allows the Chardonnay to get full, ripe flavors with great acidity and balance.

Garcia Vineyard
The Garcia vineyard in the Monterey County AVA is located near the Santa Lucia AVA overlooking the Salinas River Valley. The loam soil enables the vines to pick up subsoil minerals that increase flavor complexity. The vineyard’s proximity to the Pacific Ocean contributes to a cool growing site with moderate vineyard temperatures, allowing the grapes to develop full flavor while maintaining delicate floral aromatics.

Wine Enthusiast 88 Points
($20) Big and flavorful, this full-bodied wine boasts butter, toast and smoke nuances layered over ripe pear and marzipan flavors. Fermented in stainless steel but aged in French oak, it has a rich texture and overt sweetness without going to extremes.

Tasting Notes
Abundant floral and aromas of lychee nut, honeysuckle, and peach marmalade jump from the glass. Incredibly rich and textured, with loads of caramelized pear, pineapple and exotic marmalade notes, our Chardonnay has brilliant delineation and stunning length with undeniable minerality.

The Winery
Cherry Pie is another innovative offering from visionary winemaker Jayson Woodbridge, creator of Hundred Acre and Layer Cake Wines. One would think with the myriad winemaking projects that literally take him and his winemaking team around the globe several times each year, that Jayson would be content with his current stable of wines…but he has yearned to make Pinot Noir for years and circumstances finally aligned for him to do just that.

Jayson sought out the owners of Stanly Ranch, on the Napa side of the Carneros appellation, as their grapes were becoming well known as some of the most sought after Pinot Noir grapes in California. They told him they would give him a small allocation to make wine, but future allocations would depend on the quality of the wine he made. They had no idea that was just that kind of challenge that puts Jayson at his best.
