**This is the original Supervenetian created by Masi in 1964 and internationally recognised as a wine of “stupendous body and complexity”, the prototype for a new category of wines from the Veneto inspired by the Amarone production method (Burton Anderson). Its own production method was described by Hugh Johnson as “an ingenious technique”.**

Wine Enthusiast 90 Points
You’ll find alluring scents of iris, blackberry and nutmeg on this blend of 70% Corvina, 25% Rondinella and 5% Molinara. The savory palate delivers ripe plum, black cherry, carob and a touch of licorice alongside fine-grained tannins. Enjoy through 2022.

Wine Advocate 89 Points
The 2014 Campofiorin represents a special 50th anniversary (1964-2014) bottling of this unique wine. The bouquet is steady and smooth in delivery with a steady succession of black fruit flavors followed by smoke, ash, licorice and road pavement. Campofiorin is a Valpolicella-inspired red blend that sees a secondary fermentation on the skins of Amarone. This process gives the wine intensity and power that is just one step shy of its big brother Amarone. This vintage is a touch leaner and thinner in terms of mouthfeel. Happy birthday Campofiorin.

Tasting Notes
With an intense, ruby-red color and violet traces, the wine shows generous, ripe aromas of plum and cherry jam, with hints of spice. Bold and rich flavors of bitter cherries and berry fruits stand out on the palate, with good acidity, balance and velvety tannins.

Food Pairings
This very versatile wine is perfect with many different foods, including pasta with rich meat- or mushroom-based sauces, grilled or roasted red meats, game and mature cheeses.
