Tasting Notes
Olfactory examination shows a deep ruby ​​red color. The scents bring us back to the typical notes of Montalcino, with a nice ripe red fruit in highlights, accompanied by notes of earth. In the mouth is powerful with intense tannins but elegant, which, combined with a long finish with a good freshness make it a very pleasant wine.

Winemaker Notes
"Renieri" lies in the southern part of the Montalcino district.  The Sangiovese vineyards in which this wine is cultivated overlook the volcano, and four age-old oak trees stand guard.  The wine is not filtered and eventual sediments are to be considered part of natural maturation process.

The Winery
The Renieri estate comprises some 300 acres in the southern portion of Montalcino, on slopes that face Monte Amiata. 75 acres of the estate are vineyards planted at an elevation of 1150-1400 metres, forming an arc from southeast to southwest. New vines were planted in 1998, at a density of 2,500 vines per acre. The yield is kept low, at just one kilo of grapes per vine, the equivalent of one bottle of wine, which entails the least stress per vine and ensures perfectly ripened fruit, and thus optimal quality. The principal grape variety at Renieri is Sangiovese, and it is the only grape used for the Brunello di Montalcino, with other varieties reserved for other, non DOCG wines. A lengthy process of vinification and maturation transforms this raw material into the classic Brunello di Montalcino.
