“Powerful and dense, this is full of well-structured flavors of dark plum, boysenberry and wild cherry that are accented by notes of mineral and
sage. The long fi nish exudes white pepper and savory spice, with hints
of chocolate. Pure and vibrant. Drink now through 2016.”
Callabriga Dão 2009 is deep red in colour with lively aromas of fresh with some notes floral, spicy and balsamic

finish, which is lively with red fruit and herbal notes.

"Our passion for great wines led us to search for the grape varieties and flavours unique to the Portuguese Wine Regions" - Salvador Guedes,President of Sogrape Vinhos. The result is Callabriga, a new wine from the old world, an exciting new premium brand that reflects the best of quality Portuguese winemaking.
In 2009 the high temperature and water in the soil fastened the vegetative cycle. The grape maturation was regular and balanced resulting on very coloured grapes. There was some rain in September which did not affect the harvest quality.
Callabriga Dão Red 2009 is made at Sogrape's modern winery of Quinta dos Carvalhais from carefully selected grapes showing balanced maturation. After soft crushing and complete de-stemming, the grapes ferment at a controlled temperature under soft maceration procedures. The final blend is created in order to obtain elegant wines, where the primary fruit notes typical of the local varieties stand out.
